Drunk Driver Over 3 Times Legal Limit Hits Car, Leaves Scene On Thruway In Rye: Police
A Connecticut man is accused of driving drunk and sideswiping another vehicle on the Thruway in Westchester County before leaving the scene, police said.
Fairfield County resident Jose Luis Dorado-Flores, 48, of Stamford, was arrested Thursday, May 7, following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 287 eastbound near Interstate 95 in Rye, New York State Police announced on Friday, May 8.
According to police, troopers responded to the scene around 6:46 p.m. after a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was sideswiped by a 2018 Honda CRV.

A crossing guard remains hospitalized after she was hit by a car in Parsippany last week, authorities said.
On Thursday, Jan. 29, at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to Vail Road and Redstone Drive after Denise Rocco, an on-duty uniformed Parsippany crossing guard, had been struck while attempting to stop traffic in a marked crosswalk, Parsippany police said. Rocco sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.

Woman Killed In Head-On Crash In East Patchogue: Police
A woman was killed in a head-on crash on Woodside Avenue East in East Patchogue, Suffolk County police announced on Monday, Jan. 12.
Rae Deprizio, 77, of Middle Island, was driving a 2014 Kia Optima westbound when her vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2012 Jeep Renegade at about 6:10 p.m., according to Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives.
The Jeep was being driven by Samantha Drake, 32, of Mastic, police said.
